The Hitching Post Theater happens tonight November 13th at the Nomad Theater in North Boulder.

Five writers have three hours to write a short stage play around two actors selected at random.

The plays are handed to a director and the actors who have until 5:30pm to rehearse before the first performance at 6:30pm and the second at 8:00pm. Click on the Hitching Post logo to find out more from the facebook page.

Alan O’Hashi was one of the writers for this month. You can check out his work by opening the link to The Last Waltz. He had the challenge of writing for an actor with laryngitis which is reflected in the no-dialogue play.

‘PRT Woman’ on stage at Hitching Post Theater March 13th

The Hitching Post Theater presents five short plays tonight, March 13th, at the Nomad Theater in North Boulder.

The event begins at 630pm with music and he plays begin at 7pm. Five writers are challenged with writing a story from 830am to 1230pm. The plays are handed off to five directors and two actors per play for five hours of rehearsal before the plays are presented at 7pm.

Here’s the best stage play gig in town – Hitching Post Theater. Looking for a great night of entertainment? Stop by the Nomad Theater in north Boulder on Sunday December 12.

Here’s how it works. Five writers meet at the Kelly Barn at 830am and given a topic, grab a prop out of a box and randomly choose two actor head shots then have until 1230pm to write a short play.

When the time limit is up, each writer hands the prop, head shots and script are handed over to a director who tracks down the two actors. They have until around 6pm to rehearse.

The doors open at 630pm and the plays are performed that evening at 7pm and 830pm at the Nomad Theater on North Broadway.

The Hitching Post Theater needs actors, directors and writers to push themselves to their limits once a month on the second Sunday.

Hitching Post Theater 5-plays!

Check out the Hitching Post Theater at the Nomad Theater every 2nd Sunday of the month. Five playwrights pen short plays from 830am – 1230pm. Their works are turned over to a director and two actors who rehearse until 6pm with the performances at 7pm and 830pm.

BCM’s Alan O’Hashi wrote of the five plays. The theme was “Romeo and Juliet – Another Lifetime” and the required prop was a blue parasol umbrella.
